I can’t believe it but, Valentine’s day is right around the corner! In today’s post I’ll be sharing gift ideas that are fun and also eco-friendly.
1. Valentine’s Day Gift sets from The Tot
The Tot is one of my favorite online stores for all things non-toxic for babies, kids and moms. They have a carefully curated selection of products that meet the Tot Test – which means every product available on the Tot is third party tested for harmful chemicals such as heavy metals or parabens. See the full list of chemicals they avoid here.
The Tot has adorable gifts sets for babies and children ranging from age 0-5, specifically for Valentine’s Day. The gifts sets are priced at $50, $100, and $200. Take a look at this $50 gift set for toddler girls aged 3-5:
It has rainbow hair clips, a ballerina mouse, floral and butterfly tattoos, the sweetest unicorn chalks, and bubble gum dough.
These sets are certain to brighten anyone’s day! Make sure to place your order by February 1st to receive your shipment in time.
2. Gifting an Experience
Leading a green lifestyle means trying to reduce waste as much as possible. Cultural traditions of gift wrapping presents or cards uses a lot of paper (ie trees) – as you can imagine. One way to celebrate Valentine;s Day without gifting a material item, is to gift an experience that you and your loved ones can enjoy.
A weekend get away, a nice dinner out, or even a beautiful weekend hike would be an amazing Valentine’s day activity.
3. A home-baked goodie
Of course the classic of classics, gifting sweets is one of the first things people think of when it comes to Valentine’s Day. But, why not bake your own sweets this year for your valentine?
One principle that is important to me in leading a clean lifestyle is to know the ingredients in the food or drinks that me or my family consumes. Not only are processed foods awful for you, but many products that are marketed as healthy don’t necessarily contain the best ingredients. So, cooking or baking at home is the best way to ensure your family is eating the best foods. This wouldn’t be any different for Valentine’s Day!
Try baking with organic ingredients and swap the sweetener to honey instead of sugar, which provides more health benefits. It could also be a fun activity for little ones to be involved in as well!
Have you decided on your Valentine’s Day plan yet?
